1. Terms of Engagement

Welcome to the digital portal of The Hour Glass ("Boutique," "we," "us," or "our"). By browsing this website, accessing our virtual salon showroom, or scheduling a private physical consultation at our Central boutique (Shop G05, G/F, Prince's Building, 10 Chater Road, Central, Hong Kong), you explicitly agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions of service.

2. Horological Servicing & Mechanical Overhaul Terms

When entrusting timepieces to our laboratory for water diagnostics, polishing, calibration, or restoration, the client agrees to:

• Assessment Fees: An initial physical evaluation is required to diagnose complex mechanical calibers. A basic diagnostic fee applies and is waived only upon formal approval of the restoration estimate.
• Timeline Contingencies: Horological restorations require high precision. Timelines quoted are baselines. Sourcing rare vintage Swiss components may result in necessary extensions.
• Secure Storage Liability: Restored watches left unclaimed past ninety (90) days from the final completion notification are subject to secure physical vault-holding fees (HK$500 per week).

3. Private Sourcing, Acquisitions & Deposits

Our acquisitions concierge utilizes an extensive international database to source hard-to-find watch models. Due to the high value and market volatility of luxury watches, committing to a sourcing search requires a non-refundable searching deposit (starting at HK$3,000 as indicated in our pricing structures). If a sourced model is found matching the client's specifications, final purchase execution must occur within seven (7) banking days.

4. Consignment & Legal Clearances

Any timepiece accepted for luxury consignment at our Prince's Building showroom must undergo extensive spectroscopic metal validation and micro-serial verification. The consignor warrants that they possess clear, unencumbered legal title to the timepiece and provide matching box, serial papers, or certificates of origin when available. Sells are subject to our standard performance commission structure.

5. Insurance & Limitation of Liability

All physical luxury assets held in our vault for repair, appraisal, or consignment sales are covered under our comprehensive, multi-million Lloyd's boutique property insurance policy. Our liability for any physical loss or theft in custody is strictly limited to the certified appraisal valuation or agreed consignment baseline price, and excludes any indirect, punitive, or sentimental damages.

6. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). Any disputes arising out of horological services or showroom transactions shall be submitted to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong Courts.
